Sughil Poultry Farms

We've been running Sughil Poultry Farms for a while now. Most people know us because we're tucked away right near the South Indian Bank over on Varnapuram 4th Street, inside the Sri Complex. It’s a busy spot, but the work we do is pretty straightforward. Every morning starts early, usually before the sun is even up, because the birds don't wait for anyone. We spend a lot of time checking on things, making sure the feed is right and the environment is clean enough for the chickens to stay healthy. It isn't glamorous work by any means. There is always a lot of dust and noise, and your clothes end up smelling like the farm by noon. But it's what we know. People from around the neighborhood stop by sometimes to ask about what we have, or they just recognize us from the street. We try to keep things organized in the office at Sri Complex, though paperwork is never as interesting as being out with the animals. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer months here, so we have to watch the ventilation closely. The farm keeps us on our toes. There’s always something that needs fixing or a batch of birds that needs extra attention. We just show up every day and get the tasks done one by one. It’s a local business, run by local people who understand the rhythm of this area.
