Our shop is right across from the bus stand on Maligai Arangam Road. It is a very busy spot and you can hear the buses pulling in and out all day long. We have been at number 137/204 for quite a while now. Most people who come in are farmers or people from the nearby villages who just got off the bus with their bags. They usually need things for their crops or just some advice on what to use for their soil this season. We keep a lot of heavy bags stacked up in the back and sometimes it gets hard to move around when a new shipment arrives from the warehouse. The shelves are mostly full of different containers and seed packets that get a bit dusty. It smells a bit like earth and chemicals inside which we are used to by now. On market days it gets really crowded and we barely have time to sit down for a meal. My brother and I manage most of the daily stuff and the paperwork. We don't do much advertising because people just see us when they walk past the bus stand. The front door stays open so the air moves a bit but it still gets very hot in the afternoons. We handle a lot of heavy lifting and our backs usually hurt by the end of the shift. It is a plain place with concrete floors and a small counter for the cash.
