If you drive down the NH Main Road in Vijayamangalam, you’ll find us at Lakshmi Mahal, number two. We are Bharat Chandra Husking Mill With Paddy Processing. It’s a bit of a long name for a place that basically just works with rice all day long. The machines make a lot of noise, which is just part of the job. We’ve been in the Erode district for quite some time. Dealing with paddy means we follow the seasons. When the harvest comes in, it’s a lot of work. We have to make sure the husking is done right so the farmers and the sellers are happy with what they get back. It’s dusty work. You probably won’t see us wearing suits or anything like that. We are usually covered in a bit of dust from the mill. The location on the main road makes it easy for trucks to pull in and out, which helps. Sometimes traffic gets backed up near Lakshmi Mahal, but we manage. My family has been around this area for years. We just try to keep the machines running and the process moving smoothly. It isn’t always easy when a machine breaks down, but we fix it and move on. There isn't much to say other than we work hard and keep our heads down. We focus on the grain.
