About Mukarram Jah High School – Education in Erode
Mukarram Jah High School sits right by the Villarasampatti Naal Road in Erode. Nasiyanur is the kind of place where everyone knows where the school is located. It’s a solid building that has seen a lot of students pass through its doors over the years. The road outside can get a bit busy with traffic, so we always have someone watching the entrance when the day ends. Inside, the hallways are wide enough for the students to move around, and the walls are painted a simple shade. We have a playground that gets a bit dusty in the summer, but the kids don't seem to mind when they’re playing football or just running around. The teachers here have their own ways of doing things, usually focusing on the textbooks and making sure everyone stays on track with their work. It’s a lot of routine, from the morning prayer to the final bell at four o'clock. We have a small library, but it’s mostly just shelves of old books that have been donated or bought over time. The desks are wooden and have carvings from students who were here ten years ago. It’s not a perfect place, and sometimes the roof leaks a bit during the heavy monsoon rains, but we get it fixed and keep going. Most of the kids come from the farming families nearby, so they understand the value of hard work. We just keep the doors open and teach.
