Xion Exporters

Xion Exporters is based out of Chippu Cottage on Parappilly Lane in Thiruvankulam. It’s an interesting place to work because it really is a cottage, not some cold office building. Parappilly Lane is a narrow little road, and it can be a bit of a squeeze if two cars try to pass each other. We like it here in Tripunithura because it feels more like a community than a business district. The cottage has small rooms, so we’ve had to get creative with how we store our shipping crates and packing materials. Sometimes the porch is full of boxes waiting to be picked up. We handle a lot of different products, mostly things we can source from around the region to send abroad. It’s not a high-tech operation. We do a lot of the packing ourselves, using old-fashioned bubble wrap and tape. There’s a garden out front that we try to keep tidy, but the weeds usually win. Inside, the floors are wood and they creak when you walk. We don't have a board room; we usually just sit around the kitchen table to talk about what needs to be done. It’s a quiet way to run an export business. We aren't looking to expand into some giant warehouse. We like the way things are at Chippu Cottage. It’s a bit cramped and sometimes the roof leaks a little, but it feels right for us.
