Nikasu Frozen Foods International

Nikasu Frozen Foods International is based at Plot 23, which is inside the CSEZ in Kakkanad. Being located in a Special Economic Zone means things are a bit different here compared to a normal street office. There is security at the gates and a lot of rules about who comes in and out. Our specific unit is mostly taken up by big cold storage rooms and processing areas. It stays very cold inside the building, which is actually a relief sometimes because of how hot and humid it gets outside in Kakkanad. Most of us spend our shifts wearing heavy jackets and boots. It’s a busy place with people constantly moving pallets and checking the temperature gauges. We don’t have much of a lobby or a place for visitors to sit down and relax. It’s a workspace first. There are always trucks backed up to the loading docks. The CSEZ area is quite large and there are many other businesses around us, so the roads get very crowded during shift changes. We have been operating from this address for quite a long time now. It’s a very specific kind of work environment because of the freezing equipment. We don't really have a big team of office people. It is mostly just the staff on the floor and the drivers. We keep our heads down and make sure everything stays at the right temperature. It’s just the daily grind for us at plot twenty-three.
