Down here in Vadayampady, things move at a bit of a different pace than in the city. Our place, Kaveri Plastics, is located just past the Puthenkruz post office area. We have been in this spot for a long while now. The surroundings are still somewhat green, which is nice when you step out of the factory for a break. We make various plastic items, and the machines take up most of the floor space. It’s a family-run kind of feel, even if we are a private limited company on paper. We know the local people well. Many of our workers live just a short walk away. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we all have to wait around for the generator to kick in. It’s just part of life in this part of town. We keep things pretty simple. There aren't any big signs or bright lights. We just focus on our production and making sure the items are what they should be. The rainy season can be tough because the roads around here get a bit muddy, but we manage to keep our deliveries moving. We don't spend much time on fancy talk; we’d rather be on the floor checking the molds. It is a steady job and we are glad to be part of the community here. We just take things one day at a time and keep the machines running and the floors as clean as we can.
