Chilton Refrigeration sits right there at Chiltron Towers on NH-47, near the Edappally Toll. Being on the highway means we get a lot of dust and a lot of noise from the traffic passing by all day and night. It’s a big landmark for us, though, and most people around here know the building. We work on refrigeration stuff, so the workshop area can get a bit chilly or sometimes very messy depending on what is being taken apart. We have a lot of tools lying around and some half-finished projects on the benches. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we have a local vibe going on. We aren't big on meetings; we usually just talk over the machines or in the hallway. The building itself has seen a lot of seasons. The paint might be peeling a bit in the corners, but the equipment inside is what matters. When the monsoon hits, the sound on the roof is so loud you can't hear yourself think, but we just keep working. We have a small area where we keep our lunch boxes and a kettle. It’s not a high-rise corporate office with a view, but it’s our space. We focus on getting the refrigeration units back out the door so they can do their job. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it a long time now. We aren't trying to be the biggest company, we just want to do right by the people who come to us.
