The Marine Produt Export Development Authority

We are located at MPEDA House, right on Panampilly Avenue in Kochi. This area is quite nice, with plenty of trees and wide roads, which is a bit different from the more industrial parts of the city. As an organization, we’ve been here for a long time, focusing on the marine and seafood export sector. The building itself is a well-known landmark in this part of town. Inside, it’s a lot of government-style offices with wooden desks and stacks of files about fishing zones, export permits, and quality standards. It’s not a fast-paced environment in the way a startup might be, but there’s a steady, constant stream of work that needs to be done. We spend our days dealing with exporters, helping them navigate the various rules for sending seafood abroad. There are always meetings happening in the conference rooms and people coming in to get their documents stamped. It’s a bit formal, but the staff is generally helpful if you know what you’re looking for. The view of the greenery on Panampilly Avenue is a nice break from the computer screens. We don't really do "marketing" because our role is more about support and regulation for the industry. It’s about making sure the standards are met so the exports keep moving forward. We just provide the space and the expertise for that to happen, right from our office in Kochi, without any big fuss or complicated corporate jargon.
