If you head down the N.H. Bypass towards Palarivattom, you’ll find us at Sugandha Bhavan. It is a pretty well-known building in this part of town. Working with spices means there is always some kind of scent in the air, though after a while you stop noticing it. We handle a lot of the administrative stuff that goes into the spice trade. It’s mostly paperwork, meetings, and keeping records of what is happening in the fields and the markets. The bypass is always busy, so getting to work can be a bit of a crawl in the mornings. We aren't a small shop selling packets; we deal with the bigger picture of how spices are handled across the country. The office is usually humming with the sound of keyboards and people talking on the phones. It isn't always exciting, but it is important for the industry. We see a lot of people coming through here, from farmers to traders. We just try to keep everything organized and make sure the rules are followed. It is a big responsibility, but we take it one day at a time. The building itself is quite large, and there is always something going on in one of the departments. We’ve been here at this location for a long time now. It’s just another day of managing the details that keep the spice business moving forward.
