We’re tucked away in Vidya Nagar, in the Palissery area of Karukutty. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here from the main city, but it’s a nice enough spot once you’re actually on the campus. The engineering students are always carrying around big rolls of paper or heavy bags full of books. We have a lot of labs that usually smell like oil, metal, and old electronics. It’s not the most glamorous place to work, but it’s where the real learning happens. The staff offices are usually buried under stacks of technical manuals and student projects waiting to be graded. We spend a lot of time talking about class schedules and why the printer in the main hall isn't working again. It’s a very practical kind of environment. We don't go in for fancy speeches or polished presentations about how great we are. We’re just a group of people trying to teach engineering in a way that actually makes sense to the students. The cafeteria is where everyone ends up at noon, and the food is okay, but nothing special. The campus has a lot of greenery and trees, which is nice when you need a break from staring at computers all day. It’s a big place, and it takes new people a while to get to know all the shortcuts between the buildings. We just take it one day at a time, dealing with the exams.
