Saraf House is where we spend our days, right on Marar Road in Willingdon Island. It is a bit of a different world out here compared to the main city of Kochi. You can often smell the salt and the harbor nearby. The building is our own, so it has got that lived-in feel to it. It is not a modern glass box. We have got high ceilings and some old wooden desks that have been here forever. Trading is what we do, so there is a lot of calling and checking on shipments from the port. The island is relatively quiet, which is nice for focusing. We don't have the constant traffic jams you see elsewhere in the city. Most of us have been working together for many years, so it feels like a second family. We have our tea at the same time every afternoon without fail. Sometimes we watch the big ships come into the port from the end of the road. It is a very practical way of life. We don't worry about being trendy or having the latest office gadgets. We just focus on the orders and making sure the crates get where they need to go on time. Marar Road is easy to find once you cross the bridge into the island. It is a solid, quiet place to work. We like the slower pace here. It suits the way we handle our business affairs and daily tasks.
