Out here in Elanthoor P.O., you can find us at the Pournami building. Sabarigiri Farmer Producer Company Limited is a community-based effort. We are just a group of people who work the land and decided to pool our resources. Elanthoor is a good place for this kind of work, and we’ve been part of this community for a long time. Our daily routine is pretty much what you’d expect from a farming company. We get in early, check on the progress of the various farms involved, and try to sort out any issues with logistics or supplies. It’s not a polished operation with high-tech gadgets everywhere. We rely more on experience and knowing how the local climate behaves. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit overwhelming for us, but we push through it because we know it helps the collective. We talk to each other a lot—at the tea shop, on the road, or in the office. It’s about making sure everyone is doing okay. We don't have a formal mission statement written on the wall; we just know that we need to keep the farms running and the families supported. It’s a practical way of living, and while it’s hard work, there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing the results of a long season’s labor. We aren't doing it for the fame, just to keep our way of life going for another year.
