Muzris Screw Pine Craft Producer Company Limited

We are over here in Kids Kottappuram, near Thrissur. It is a quiet enough place where we focus on the screw pine crafts. Most of us have been working with these plants for a long time. It’s not a big fancy factory or anything like that. We just gather together at the office near the secretary's place and get things done. The address is 25/172, in case anyone is looking for us. Making things from screw pine takes a lot of patience. You have to harvest it, dry it out, and then start the weaving. It is hard on the hands sometimes, but it’s what we know. We formed this producer company so we could work together better. There are quite a few of us involved now. We spend our days dealing with the raw materials and trying to keep the tradition going. The building itself is just a regular spot near the road where we gather. We keep our tools there and some of the finished items before they get sent out. It’s not always perfectly clean because there is always some dust from the dried plants. We don't mind. We've been doing this since we were younger, learning from the older folks in the village. We don’t have any big plans to become a global brand. We just want to make sure the people here have work and that our screw pine products are made the right way. That’s enough for us.
