Munnar Catering College

Up on the second floor of the Chandrika Building on MG Road, that’s where you’ll find us. It’s a very busy part of Ernakulam, so there is always a lot of noise from the street coming up through the windows. The building is one of those older ones that has seen a lot of people come and go over the years. We have our space set up for the students who are here learning about the catering business. You might see people in their white uniforms or carrying around various pieces of kitchen equipment. It’s a hands-on kind of place, so it isn’t always quiet like a library. There is a lot of movement between the different rooms. We try to keep things organized, but when classes are in full swing, there’s a bit of a rush to get everything done. The location is great because the bus stops are right there on the main road, making it easy for everyone to get to us. Inside the office area, the walls have some notices and schedules pinned up. It feels like a place where work actually happens rather than a fancy showroom. Sometimes the elevator in Chandrika Building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which is fine for a bit of exercise. We spend our days managing the schedules and talking to students about their training. It’s a practical environment, very down-to-earth. We’ve been on MG Road for quite a bit now, and we’re just part of the everyday bustle of this side of town.
