Mathewsons Exports & Imports Pvt.Ltd.

We work out of the Mathewsons Building in Kaloor. It’s our own building, so we’ve been here for a long time and everyone in the area knows where we are. Mathewsons Exports & Imports Pvt.Ltd. is basically what we do every single day—moving goods in and out of the country. Kaloor is a very central spot, so we see a lot of people passing by our windows. The building is a bit older, but it serves us well for what we need. We have rooms filled with files and ledgers that go back years. It’s a lot of paperwork when you’re dealing with customs and shipping schedules. We spend most of our time on the phone or checking tracking numbers on the computer. It can get a bit stressful when a shipment is held up at the port, but that is just how the export and import business goes. We have a small staff here, and many of them have been with the company since the very beginning. We drink a lot of coffee and talk about how the global markets are changing. It isn't a high-tech setup. We still like doing things the way we know works. The rain in Kaloor can be quite heavy during the monsoon, and sometimes we just watch it from the office windows while we work. It’s a steady business. We don’t try to be anything fancy. We just handle the logistics and make sure everything is on time.
