Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical College

Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical College is located out in Kolencherry, near Kochi. It’s a large campus because it includes the hospital and the college buildings together. We’ve been part of this community for many years, and almost everyone in the area knows where we are. It’s a busy place, as you would expect with a medical facility. There are always people coming and going—students, patients, doctors, and nursing staff. The atmosphere is very practical and a bit serious. We have different wings for various departments and the hostels for the students are nearby too. It’s not a shiny, new glass building; it has a more established, traditional look to it. We spend our days managing the classes and the clinical rotations for the students. The admin office is often full of files and people trying to get their paperwork sorted out. It’s a lot of hard work for everyone involved. We don't have any fancy promotional stuff going on. The focus is just on the medical training and the hospital work. The grounds are kept okay, but it’s a working hospital first and foremost. If you’re coming from Kochi, it’s a bit of a drive, but it’s a well-known landmark in Kolencherry. We just keep doing what we’ve been doing for years, training new doctors and caring for the patients who come through.
