Our group is the Kerala Consortium Of Coconut Producer Company. We are based out of Alathur, specifically in a place called Idukkupara near Govindapuram. Our address is 12/398. As you can probably guess from the name, we are all about coconuts. In Palakkad, we have plenty of trees, but selling the nuts individually wasn’t working out too well for us. So, we teamed up. It’s a consortium of regular farmers, not a big city business. We spend most of our time dealing with the palms, the climbers, and the drying yards. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s what we know. We aren't polished or corporate. Our meetings usually happen in a room that smells like dried coconut and dirt. We talk about pest control and market prices mostly. The sun in Palakkad can be brutal, but the work doesn’t stop. We just want to make sure the coconut farmers in this area get a fair shake. We aren't trying to sound like some high-end brand. We are just the people who grow the stuff. We’ve been here at this address for a while now, slowly figuring out how to make things work better for everyone involved. It’s a practical way to survive in a tough business, and we just take it one day at a time. There is always a tree to climb or a bag to fill before the day is done.
