Jans Agrofarms & Nurseries Llp is based at Nellickal House. Since we run both a farm and a nursery, our hands are usually pretty dirty by the end of the day. The house serves as the heart of everything we do. We grow a variety of plants and handle the agricultural side of the business right from here. It isn't a corporate setup by any means. It’s more like a family-run place where the work never really stops. We spend a lot of time in the nursery part, tending to young plants and making sure they are getting enough water and shade. In the evenings, we sit in the office area of Nellickal House to get the paperwork done. There’s always something that needs fixing, whether it’s a leaky hose or a fence that’s falling down. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just plant things, help them grow, and then sell them to people who need them. The rhythm of the seasons dictates everything we do. Sometimes we have too many saplings and not enough space, and other times we are waiting for the rain to finally start. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy from morning till night. We just focus on the plants and the soil and try to keep everything at the house running smoothly.
