J. V. Gokal & Oc. is based out of Nilhat House on Bristow Road. Willingdon Island is a bit of a different place to work compared to the mainland. You get used to the sounds of the port and the way the air smells. Our office isn't anything fancy, just a place where we get our work done every day. Some of us have been coming here for years, taking the same route over the bridge or the ferry depending on where we live. The building itself has some history to it, and you can feel that when you walk through the halls. It’s not one of those modern glass towers you see everywhere now. It’s more solid than that. We spend most of our time at our desks, dealing with paperwork and phone calls. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when things are busy, but usually, it's just the steady hum of computers and people talking. There’s a small place nearby where we usually grab tea in the afternoon. It’s a simple routine, really. We don't spend much time worrying about decor or making things look perfect for visitors. As long as the lights work and the desks are clear enough to see, we’re happy. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do here. We just show up, do what needs to be done, and then head home when the sun starts to go down over the water.
