Dashapushpam Farmer Producer Company Limited operates out of Shop No Apiii/1608 in Kattadimuku, which is near Chirayinkeezhu in Thiruvananthapuram. The name Dashapushpam refers to the ten sacred flowers, which says a lot about the kind of traditional roots we have here. Our shop is a small place at the junction, and it's where all the local farmers stop by to chat or drop off their things. Kattadimuku isn't a very big place, so everyone knows where the shop is. It’s usually pretty cluttered with various farming supplies and bags of produce waiting to be moved. We don't have a fancy reception area or air conditioning; it's just a functional space where we get work done. We spend a lot of our time listening to the concerns of the farmers from around Chirayinkeezhu and trying to find solutions for their daily problems. Some days are slow and we just sit around the shop, and other days are so busy we barely have time to eat lunch. We don't go in for any big marketing slogans or anything corporate. We are just part of the local scene here, trying to keep the farming traditions alive while making sure everyone can actually earn a bit of money. It’s a simple life, and the work is hard, but we are satisfied with doing things the old-fashioned way right here in our village.
