You can find Bearing & Commerce in the Pullickal Buildings, right across from the Medical Trust Hospital in Pallimukku. It’s a very recognizable landmark, so people don't usually get lost coming here. Our shop is full of boxes. Bearings take up a lot of space and they are heavy. We have shelves lining every wall, and even then, we sometimes have to put things on the floor. It’s a bit of a maze inside. We’ve been here for years. The area is always busy with people going to the hospital or the shops nearby. We get a lot of walk-in traffic. People looking for a specific part for their car or a machine. We spend a lot of time looking through catalogs and checking our stock. We don't have a computer system that does it all for us. We know where most things are just by memory. It’s a bit old school, but it’s how we learned. The building itself is older, but it’s sturdy enough. We like the vibe of Pallimukku. It’s got a lot of character. We are just local shopkeepers at the end of the day. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customer. It’s a steady life. We enjoy the conversations we have with the regulars who stop by to chat.
