Moongilvanam Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our place is at No.20, S. Kurumbapatti. It is right in the Sukkampatti Post area, which you can find if you are coming via Iyyalur in the Vedasandur Tk region. We are known as Moongilvanam Farmer Producer Company Limited. It sounds like a big name, but we are just a group of local farmers. We spend most of our time out in the sun, not in an office. When we do go to No.20, it is usually to talk about who is buying our crops or to share some news about the latest government rules that we don't always understand. The building is simple and doesn't have any big signs. We have a few old chairs and a desk where we keep our ledgers. We write everything down by hand mostly. It is a lot of work to keep track of everyone’s harvest. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just have to wait it out. The road to Sukkampatti can be bumpy after a storm. We are all neighbors here. We know whose tractor is broken and who had a good yield this season. We don't have any fancy mission statements. We just want to sell our produce without getting cheated. It is hard to make a living from the land these days, so we figured staying together is our best bet. It is a plain, honest way to live and work.
