Vathilai Vattara Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based out of Kunnuvarankottai, specifically on the Kurumbapatti Road in Nilakottai. Vathilai Vattara Farmer Producer Company Limited is a bit of a long name for us, but it’s how we’re registered. We are basically a bunch of farmers from around here who decided to pool our resources together. It’s hard to do everything alone, especially when prices for everything keep going up. We share tools and help each other out with getting stuff to the market. Life in the village is pretty straightforward. Most of us have been farming since we were kids. There is a spot at 3/477-1 on the road where we meet up. It’s nothing fancy, just a place to talk shop and figure out what we’re planting next season. Sometimes the meetings take longer than they should because everyone has an opinion on the weather or the soil. We don't have a big office or anything like that. It’s mostly just us standing around under a tree or in the shed. We’re trying to make sure the smaller farms don’t get left behind. It’s not always easy keeping everyone on the same page, but we make it work. Most days you’ll find us out in the fields or driving tractors down the road. We just want to get a fair price for what we grow and keep our families going. It's honest work and we've been at it for a long time in this corner of the world.
