Kiruba Whitefield Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of C.K. Valasu in Chinna Mandavadi. We are right there at Ramasamy’s place. It’s more of a community effort than anything else. A bunch of us farmers in Oddanchatram decided we were tired of trying to do everything on our own. It’s hard to get good prices or find the right supplies when you’re just one person working a small plot. So, we pooled our resources together. It isn't always smooth sailing. There are a lot of meetings held under the trees or in the front yard where we argue about the best way to do things. Everyone has their own opinion because everyone’s land is a little different. But at the end of the day, we’re all looking for the same thing. We want our families to do okay and our crops to grow well. Being a producer company means we can help each other out with equipment or selling what we grow. It’s a very local operation. Most of us have known each other since we were kids. We don't have a marketing department or a fancy logo. We just have our names and our reputation in the village. If you come down to Chinna Mandavadi, you’ll see how we work. It’s honest, it’s tiring, and it’s real life. We just take it one season at a time and see what happens.
