We operate the Uttar Dinajpur Farmer Producer Company Limited from Sreepur, Jharbari. You can find us at Pabitra Sarkar’s place. It is a quiet village area in the northern part of the state. Most of us here have been farming our whole lives. We decided to form this company to help manage the logistics of what we grow. It is a very hands-on job. We spend most of our time out in the fields or at the collection point rather than sitting in an office. When we do sit down, it is at the table in Sreepur to sort out the accounts. It is a basic setup with just the essentials. We don't have any marketing materials or sales pitches. We just are who we are. Some days are long and tiring, especially when we have to move heavy bags or deal with equipment that breaks down. We just fix things and keep going. Being in Uttar Dinajpur means we are far from the big cities, so we rely on each other a lot. The village life suits us and our business reflects that. We deal with grains, vegetables, and whatever else the season brings. It is honest work and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We are just a group of farmers trying to do right by our members and our land here in Jharbari.
