If you ever find yourself in Villbadsankair, you might run into us. Sonar Fasol Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Gajendra Nath Barman’s place. We are located in the Banial area of South Dinajpur. It’s a rural spot, which is perfect for a bunch of farmers like us. We don't have a corporate office with glass walls. Our setup is much more basic, just a room where we can sit down and figure out the logistics for our crops. Most of the people involved are neighbors who have known each other for years. We started this because we wanted a better way to sell what we grow without having to rely on too many middlemen. It’s a lot of work, and sometimes the math gets a bit confusing when we’re sitting there late at night with the ledgers. The electricity goes out sometimes, so we keep a flashlight handy to finish up the paperwork. D Dinajpur is a good place for farming, but it keeps you busy all year round. We don't have any marketing experts or sales teams. It's just Gajendra and a few of the rest of us making decisions as they come up. We're just trying to do right by the land and the other families in the village. It's an honest living, even if it’s not always easy or profitable every single season.
