Bhagirathi Rayat Producer Company Limited is located at House Number 75 in Tajpurnilanga, Tajpur. It is basically a group of us from the village who decided to work together. We don't have a fancy office with a receptionist. Most of the time, we are out in the fields or meeting at the house to talk about the season. Tajpur is a quiet place and everybody knows everyone else. We started this company because we wanted to have more control over how our crops are sold. It’s a lot of work and sometimes we wonder if we took on too much, but then we see a good harvest and it feels okay. We aren't professional businessmen with suits. We are just farmers who are trying to figure out the best way to handle the production side of things. It gets dusty and the hours are long, especially when the rains are late or too heavy. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We grow things and we try to sell them. That is the whole story. House 75 is where the paperwork stays, but the real business happens on the dirt roads and in the barns around Tajpur. We are just happy to be working for ourselves and our neighbors in this part of the village. It feels more honest that way. There is no corporate polish here, just people doing what needs to be done.
