Kishan Mitro Agri Fishery Farmer Producer Company Limited is located in Keotkholisa, which is part of the Mohanpur area. We are right at the start of the village, at house number 01. We do a bit of everything here, from traditional farming to fishery work, which keeps us pretty busy all year round. The weather dictates most of what we do. If it’s raining, we’re looking at the ponds; if it’s dry, we’re out in the fields. It’s a messy job sometimes, but it’s what we know. We aren't a big corporation with people in suits. We are just local farmers and fishers who thought it would be smarter to join up. Being a producer company means we can buy things in bulk and hopefully get a better price when we sell. Most of our meetings happen sitting around outside or in the small space we use as an office. There isn't any fancy equipment there, just some ledgers and a few chairs. We don't have a marketing department telling us what to say. We just tell it like it is. Some years are good, some are bad, but we stick together through it. It’s a very grounded way of life in Keotkholisa. People know they can come by if they have questions about their own crops or fish. We’re just part of the community, trying to keep the local economy going.
