Our office is tucked away in Chandni Chowk, in the Chah Andara area. The full address is H C Sain MG 2106. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets. The lanes are so narrow that two people can barely walk side by side. We have been here for years, and we have seen the buildings around us change, but our little corner stays mostly the same. It is a very old structure with high ceilings and thick walls that keep it a bit cooler than the street outside. We deal with various agencies and paperwork. Most of the day is spent handling phone calls and talking to traders who come in from other parts of the city. We have a small wooden desk that has been here since my father's time. The drawers always stick a little bit. We keep a pot of cold water in the corner for anyone who walks in feeling tired from the heat. It is a friendly place, though it can get very hectic in the afternoons when everyone wants their work done at once. We don't use much technology. A few old files and a lot of memory is how we run things. It is just the way we have always done it. We close up once the market starts to quiet down in the evening and walk to the station together.
