Our office is at T-16 in the Green Park Main Market. It’s mostly where we keep our books and talk to people about their events. The actual tents and poles are stored in a bigger godown elsewhere because they take up so much space and are heavy to move. We’ve been doing decorations for weddings and small parties in this neighborhood for quite a while now. Most of our work happens outside, setting up fabric and lights in parks or backyards. It’s hard work, especially when it’s windy or raining and we have to keep everything dry. We have a team of boys who do the heavy lifting, and I’m usually the one making sure every flower is in the right place. We have photos of our old work in a folder to show people what we can do. It’s not all fancy like you see in magazines, but we make it look nice for the local families. Sometimes things get hectic during the wedding season and we hardly get any sleep for days. We deal with all sorts of requests, and sometimes we have to say no if it’s too much for us to handle. The market here is always crowded, so parking is a nightmare. People just walk in after doing their grocery shopping to ask about prices. We just give them a fair idea and go from there without any pressure.
