United Communications is over in Rohini Sector 16, specifically at G-8/25. This part of Rohini is mostly residential, so it’s a bit quieter than the big markets, but we still get plenty of people walking by from the nearby flats. The shop is part of a small row of stores that serve the local community. I usually get here early to sweep the front and set up the display. We have a large glass window that looks out onto the street, and I spend a lot of time watching the kids playing or people walking their dogs. The inside of the shop is painted a light blue, which I thought looked nice when we did it five years ago, but it’s faded a bit since then. We have a couple of plastic chairs for people to sit on if they have to wait for a repair. It’s not a fancy place, just a room with some counters and a lot of phone parts. Sometimes the internet connection acts up, and we have to restart the router, which is always a bit of a headache during a busy hour. We deal with everything from simple recharges to more complicated phone issues. It’s just me and one other person most days, keeping things running and making sure everyone gets what they need without too much fuss. It feels like a steady, honest way to make a living in Sector 16. The neighborhood is friendly and we have become part of the daily routine here.
