We decided to set up our office on Minto Road because it's central and most people can find it without much trouble. It isn't a huge space, just enough room for a few desks and some grey filing cabinets where all the paperwork lives. Dealing with capital and money matters involves a lot of forms and talking to people about their personal numbers. Most of our day is spent on the phone or staring at computer screens. Things stay quiet for a while, then suddenly three people walk in at once and it becomes a bit chaotic for an hour. There are no fancy decorations on these walls, just a plain calendar and a clock that usually runs a few minutes fast. Traffic outside on Minto Road can be a real nightmare during the rush hour, so we often stay a bit later to let the roads clear up. People come to us when they have specific questions about their finances. We try to explain things as clearly as possible without using those confusing big words. It's just a few of us here, working through the piles of documents that never seem to get smaller. Sometimes the tea man from downstairs brings us a tray of snacks in the afternoon. It’s a very plain office environment, nothing like those big glass buildings. We just handle the tasks as they come across the desk.
