Our shop, Tvs Purnima Telecom, is over at 331 in the Badarpur Main Market. If you know the area, you know it stays crowded pretty much all day long. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a while now, mostly helping people with their mobile phones and recharges. It’s a basic setup with a glass counter and some chairs for people to wait. The walls are covered in posters and hanging wires. We spend a lot of time squinting at small screens and trying to figure out why a speaker stopped working. It can be tedious work, especially when the parts are tiny, but we’re used to it by now. The market noise comes right through the front door, so it’s never really quiet here. We see all kinds of people, from students needing a quick fix to older folks who aren't sure how to use their new smartphones. We just take it one customer at a time. Sometimes we close a little late if there’s a big repair left over. Lunch usually happens right at the counter between customers. It’s not a corporate office, just a local business in a busy market. We have our routine and we stick to it. Most people in the neighborhood know where we are if they need something for their phone. It's a straightforward place and we like it that way. We don't need much more than our tools and some steady work.
