Sourabh Telecom Centre

Our shop, Sourabh Telecom Centre, is tucked away in Kiran Garden, Uttam Nagar at D 4. It’s a busy residential area so there are always kids playing in the street and bikes zoom by. The shop is filled with tangled cables, phone cases, and stacks of boxes. It’s a bit of a mess if I’m being honest, but I know exactly where the chargers are kept. I’ve been working here for a few years now. Most of the day is spent helping people set up their new phones or fixing buttons that don't work. The walls are covered in posters for mobile plans that expired months ago. I haven't gotten around to taking them down yet. It gets really crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from the metro station. My stool is a bit broken so I have to sit a certain way so I don’t fall off. I make a lot of tea on a small stove in the back. It’s a simple business. I don’t use fancy marketing tricks to get people in. They just come because they live nearby and they know I won’t overcharge them. Sometimes the rain floods the street a little bit and I have to put sandbags at the door. That's just part of being in Uttam Nagar. It’s a good spot and I plan on staying here.
