Soham Tent & Light House

Soham Tent & Light House is our shop in the DDA Market at Dakshinpuri, shop number 41379. We do a mix of things here, mostly setting up tents and putting up lights for local celebrations. If there’s a party or a small wedding in the area, we’re usually the ones hauling the poles and the colorful bulbs. It’s a lot of physical work, especially when the sun is out. We have stacks of fabric in different colors and crates full of light strings that we’re always untangling. The shop is usually a bit of a mess with wires and cloth everywhere, but that’s just how it goes when you’re busy. We spend our evenings out at different sites, making sure everything is hooked up and looking okay for the event. Sometimes a bulb goes out or a rope comes loose, so we have to go back and fix it. It’s not a fancy job, but it’s good to see everything lit up once it’s finished. Most of the people around Dakshinpuri know us because we’ve been here in the market for quite some time. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. It’s mostly about lifting heavy things and making sure the lights work when you flick the switch. It’s a simple living, and we’re happy to be part of the local market scene. We just focus on the next event and making sure we have enough tape.
