Shridhar Tent House

Shridhar Tent House is located at shop number 15 in the DDA Market at Rajasthali, Pitampura. We spend most of our working time dealing with heavy iron pipes, thick fabrics, and massive stacks of plastic chairs. Whenever there is a wedding or a small religious function in the neighborhood, we are the ones bringing over the carpets and setting up the stages for them. It is very hard physical work, especially during the middle of the summer months when the sun is hitting us hard. Our warehouse area is usually a bit of a mess with long poles leaning against the walls and large bundles of colorful cloth tied up with rope. I started doing this work because my father did it for years before me. We have a small crew of guys who handle all the heavy lifting and the actual setup at the event sites. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned office, just a simple desk in the market where people come to book their dates. Sometimes the fabric gets stained during a party and we have to spend hours cleaning it or getting it replaced entirely. It gets incredibly busy during the marriage season, and then things get quiet for a few months. We know all the local parks and community centers quite well by now. People come to us because we are close by and we don't try to charge them for things they don't actually need. It is just about getting the tents up straight.
