If you walk through Chhannamal Park in Punjabi Bagh East, you’ll find us at WZ-41. It’s a little shop where we deal with all things related to phones. Most of my day is spent sitting behind a glass counter filled with charging cables and screen guards. People come in mostly for recharges or because they dropped their phone and the screen is a mess. It’s a small space, so it gets warm in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the front window. We’ve got a small workbench in the back for the repairs, which is usually cluttered with tiny screws that are easy to lose. I started this business because I’ve always liked fiddling with electronics, and Punjabi Bagh felt like a good place to set up. We know most of the people who live in the surrounding blocks. They stop by to pay their bills or ask why their internet isn't working right. We don't have any big corporate backing; it’s just a local spot for local people. Sometimes we get busy and there's a line, and other times it’s quiet enough for me to sit and read the paper. We aren't trying to be the biggest mobile store in Delhi, just a place where you can get your phone fixed without any trouble. It’s a steady way to make a living, even if the work is sometimes repetitive.
