The shop is over at A-88 in Shakurbasti, and it’s been there through a lot of changes in the area. Shir Shyam Mobile Centre is really just a neighborhood spot. I started it because I knew a bit about electronics and there weren't many places nearby back then. Now, there are shops everywhere, but we still have our regulars who come by. It’s a dusty little place, mostly because the road outside is always being dug up for something or other. I spend a lot of my time hunched over a desk with a magnifying glass, trying to figure out why some old phone won't turn on. The walls are covered in those hanging packs of earphones and cheap plastic cases. I don’t really bother with fancy displays or anything like that. It’s more about just having what people need when they walk in. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit in the dark talking to whoever is in the shop. It’s not a corporate business by any means. It’s just me and a bit of help sometimes. We keep the ledger on a physical book because I don't trust computers for everything. If you need something fixed, we do it, and if we can't, we just say so. It’s a simple way to live and work, and I’m used to it now.
