We operate Sehgal Tents & Caterers from Naraina Vihar, specifically C-block Shop-1. It’s a mix of dealing with food and heavy equipment. One minute we are talking about menus and the next we are counting how many spoons we have left. Keeping track of everything is a lot of work. Naraina Vihar is a quiet enough spot compared to some other parts of the city, but we stay busy. Our shop is where we handle the bookings and show people photos of what we can do. We don't have a professional photographer, so the pictures are just ones we took on our phones at previous jobs. Most people find us through word of mouth in the neighborhood. We aren't a high-end catering firm with fancy uniforms. We’re just regular people who know how to cook for a crowd and set up a decent tent. Sometimes the weather ruins a setup or a burner stops working, and we just have to fix it on the fly. It’s stressful but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Much of our time is spent in the kitchen or out at various venues. Shop-1 is our home base where we sort out the bills and clean the pots and pans. It’s a small operation and we do most of the work ourselves. We’ve been in C-block for a long time and know most of the people around here. Trying to be helpful and getting the stuff delivered and set up without any extra drama or fancy talk is our way.
