Saraswati Fire Works

Sadar Bazar is a crazy place to work, especially on Sadar Thana Road. Our shop is at number 5283. Saraswati Fire Works is a place that feels different depending on the month. During the festival seasons, it is absolutely packed. We have boxes stacked high, and we have to be very careful with how we handle everything. Safety is always on our minds, so we don't allow smoking anywhere near the building. The walls are thick, and the shop stays a bit cooler than the street outside. We spend a lot of time checking the permits and making sure the inventory is correct. It’s a lot of paperwork that people don’t see. When it’s quiet, we mostly do maintenance and clean the storage areas. The street outside is always blocked with rickshaws and trucks unloading goods. You have to be patient to even get to the front door. We’ve been in this building for years, and it has that old Delhi smell of dust and paper. Customers come from all over, sometimes buying in bulk for big events. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. By the end of the day, my back usually hurts from moving those heavy crates around. We usually lock up and take a long walk just to get some quiet air.
