We are right there in the thick of Chandni Chowk, at number 1623 on Hamdard Marg in Lal Kuan. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how tight the lanes are and how many people are walking by every second. The shop is small and filled with phone cases, chargers, and wires hanging from the ceiling. We spend the day helping people with their mobile issues, whether it’s a broken screen or a SIM card that won’t work. The noise from the street is constant—the horns, the rickshaws, and people shouting. It’s a lively place to be. We have a small counter where we do all the repairs. Sometimes it’s so crowded in the shop that customers have to wait outside on the edge of the road. We’ve been at this spot for a good while, so we know most of the other shopkeepers around Lal Kuan. We have tea brought in from the stall across the way a few times a day. It’s a lot of fiddly work with small screws and tiny parts. Your eyes get tired by the end of the day, but there is always someone else coming in with a phone that needs fixing. We just keep the lights on and the tools ready. Chandni Chowk never really sleeps, and we stay open until the market finally starts to thin out late at night.
