I've been here in Paschim Vihar at the A 5 spot near the MCD office for quite some years now. It started small. Mostly people come in because their phone screens are cracked or the battery just won't hold a charge anymore. Sahib Communication is just me and a couple of helpers sitting behind the glass counter. It gets pretty loud outside when the school kids are around. We spend most of the day looking at tiny screws and trying to get connections right. Sometimes it’s just someone needing a new screen guard or a cheap pair of earphones because they lost their old ones on the bus. The shop isn't fancy. There are boxes stacked in the corner and the fan makes a bit of a clicking noise when it's on high. We know most of the people who live around this part of Paschim Vihar by face. They stop by to ask about new models or just to get a recharge done quickly. It’s a busy life but it’s what we do. The morning starts with opening the shutters and cleaning the dust off the display. Then it’s just one phone after another until we close up late at night. There’s always someone coming in last minute with a phone that fell in water. We try to see what can be done. It’s a straightforward business, nothing too complicated. We just keep things running. It’s just how we live day to day.
