Saajan Tent House

Saajan Tent House is right on the Khanpur Main Road at A 5. If you walk down that road, you can’t miss the stacks of pipes and rolled-up carpets sitting near our entrance. We deal with tents, chairs, and lighting for all kinds of gatherings. It’s a messy business. One day we are loading heavy iron frames onto a truck and the next day we are cleaning stains off the fabric. The shop itself is mostly a storage space for all the gear. It stays dusty because of the heavy traffic on the main road. I spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating with the boys who go out to set everything up. We have a small desk tucked in the corner where the bills are kept. It gets very busy during the wedding months. Sometimes we don't sleep much because things need to be taken down at night and moved to a different location by morning. The tea shop next door is where I spend my breaks. We’ve been here for a decade or so. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but people know who we are. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We just make sure the tents are up and the chairs are ready when people need them for their local functions. That is the way we operate on this road.
