We are located at Shop No 1110 in Bazar Guliyan, right near Jama Masjid. It is one of those old parts of Delhi where the lanes are narrow and you have to watch your step. Our family has been working out of this shop for a long time. It isn't a modern showroom or anything like that. The walls are thick and the ceiling is high, typical of the old buildings in this area. We sell various things, mostly stuff people need for their homes or small trades. People come in from all over the city because Bazar Guliyan has that reputation for finding things you can't get elsewhere. It gets very busy in the afternoons, with carts moving past and people pushing through the crowds. We usually have rolls of items stacked up against the walls and boxes piled high. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for because there is just so much stuff tucked away in corners. We don't have a big marketing team; it's just a few of us handling the counter and the stock. Dealing with the heat in the summer can be tough in these old lanes, but we are used to it by now. The shop is small, but it holds a lot of history for us. We just open up every morning and wait for the regulars to show up. There’s always tea being passed around and plenty of noise from the bazaar outside.
