Ravi Jagran & Party

We are over at Vishnu Garden on Bajghera Road in Gurgaon. It’s quite near the railway station, so you can often hear the trains passing by when things get quiet. Ravi Jagran & Party has been based here for a while now. The space is mostly used to keep our sound systems, the drums, and all the religious items we need for the jagrans. It’s a bit of a trek for some people to get out here to 122001, but the Bajghera Road is usually busy enough that it’s not hard to find. The floors are concrete and we usually have rugs spread out for when we practice the songs or check the mic levels. It gets pretty dusty because of the wind coming off the open areas nearby, so we are always cleaning the speakers. We don’t have any big reception area or anything like that. It’s just a working space where the guys meet up before heading out to a night-long event. Sometimes we stay up late just making sure the costumes and the lighting sets are packed correctly in the van. There is a small tea shop just down the road where we go when we need a break from the noise. Life here is mostly about waiting for the next booking and making sure everyone’s voice is ready for the long nights of singing. It’s a humble spot but it serves us well for our work.
