Raja Communications

If you walk along Vikas Marg in Shakarpur, you will find Raja Communications at number 64. It is a busy stretch of road, so our shop sees a lot of foot traffic every day. We mainly deal with mobile phone repairs and selling used handsets. The shop is quite narrow, and we have glass counters filled with different models of phones. People come in all the time with cracked screens or batteries that won't charge anymore. We have a small workbench in the back where we do the actual repair work. It is often quite cluttered with tiny screws and screwdrivers. We also do a lot of recharges and sell SIM cards for various networks. Because we are on the main road, it can get very loud with the horns and the people walking by. We don't have a lot of space for people to wait, so they usually just stand on the pavement or come back later. We have been here for a good number of years and have seen the technology change from basic buttons to these big touchscreens. We don't use any fancy equipment, just the standard tools that get the job done. Sometimes we are able to fix a phone in twenty minutes, other times it takes a few days if we need a specific part. It’s just a normal shop trying to help people stay in touch with their families and friends. It is a steady way to live.
