Plaza Watch & Mobile Centre

We are located in Friends Market, right on the Sultan Puri Road at 43/4. It’s a small shop filled with glass counters. Half the shop is full of watches and the other half has mobile phones and chargers. I’ve been sitting in this spot for a while now, watching the crowds go by outside. Most people come in because their phone screen cracked or they need a new battery for their old wrist watch. It’s fiddly work, especially with the tiny screws in the watches. My eyesight isn’t what it used to be, so I use a magnifying glass a lot of the time. The walls are covered with different types of straps and phone cases. It gets quite noisy because of the market outside, but we’re used to it. We keep things simple here. If someone brings a phone that’s too far gone, I just tell them straight. There is no point in wasting their money or my time. We have a small stool for customers to sit on while they wait for a repair. It’s not a big corporate store with uniforms or anything like that. It’s just me and a helper who comes in the afternoons. We open around ten in the morning and stay until the market starts to quiet down at night. It’s a decent way to make a living and we know many of the regulars who pass by the shop every day.
