Paramhans Tent House

Paramhans Tent House is located at Shop No 5 in the Vijay Vihar area of Uttam Nagar. It is a fairly busy spot, especially when the wedding season or local festivals are just around the corner. The shop is more of a storage space than anything else, filled to the ceiling with folded-up tents, heavy metal poles, and stacks of plastic chairs. You can often find me or a couple of the helpers out on the sidewalk sorting through fabrics or checking for any tears that need fixing. Uttam Nagar is known for being crowded, so getting our delivery trucks in and out of the narrow lanes near the shop can be a real headache some days. We don’t really have a fancy office for meetings; most people just stand near the entrance and tell us what they need for their upcoming event. It is physically demanding work, and my clothes are usually dusty by the time the afternoon rolls around. Rain is our biggest enemy because everything has to be dried out properly before we can store it back in Shop No 5, otherwise, it starts to smell. The record-keeping is done in a simple diary that sits on a small stool near the back. We have been in this neighborhood for a long time, so we don't feel the need for big signs or loud advertisements. It is just a straightforward business where we focus on getting the equipment where it needs to go on time.
