The shop here at Janakpuri B F 91 is where I spend most of my daylight hours. Onant Communication isn't some huge showroom you see in the malls; it’s just a regular corner where we handle phone stuff. The building is a bit older, and the stairs can be a bit narrow if you're carrying a lot of bags. I usually start the day by wiping down the glass counters because they get fingerprints all over them by the time we close at night. Most of our day is spent dealing with people who are frustrated because their screens are cracked or their batteries won't hold a charge for more than an hour. It gets pretty loud when the market nearby is full, and you can hear the cars honking outside constantly. We have a small stool in the corner where people sit while they wait for us to finish up their work. Sometimes the electricity cuts out for a few minutes and we just sit there in the dark talking until it comes back on. It’s a small team, just me and two other guys who know their way around a circuit board. We don’t have any fancy coffee machines or lounge areas, just a water cooler that rattles a bit. It’s just a normal business in Janakpuri trying to keep things moving. I’ve lived around here for years, so I know most of the faces that walk through that door every day.
